The Baby Trend Expedition XL is a great stroller to purchase on a budget that can be used as a main stroller and jogging stroller. Since it is a compatible travel system. Users should keep in mind that the stroller does not have suspension, so jogging may be difficult on a dirt road. But this stroller hits all the essentials needed. However the stroller’s frame is sturdy and provides great protection for the child riding it. The sun shade is generous, and the car seat makes it infant compatible. However the user should not use the car seat for jogging especially if the infant is extremely young. The stroller also has a two step break on the rear end wheels, and a hand break for when people go down hill.

Good  – 6/10

This stroller received a 6 out of 10 in this category. It is made up of a tough frame and is composed of thick fabric that does not wear easily. Additionally, the footrest is made up of rubberized material that is very durable. However, some reviewers have felt that the fabric of this stroller is not as durable as it could be.

Good – 6/10

This stroller weighs in at 26 pounds. This makes it on the heavier side when it comes to standard strollers. However, this stroller makes up for its large size with its huge undercarriage storage area and considerable compactness despite its width.

Very Good – 7/10

The Cosmopolitan has an efficient parking brake that is very easy to activate. When the brake is engaged, it is able to lock both wheels into place to prevent it from rolling down inclines. This is very helpful for when you want your stroller, with your child, to stay stationary.

Very Good – 7/10

This stroller is fairly compact considering its size and heavy weight. Some reviewers have remarked that this stroller looks a lot more compact on Mountain Buggy’s website. However, this stroller will fit through any doorway and is compact enough to navigate through tight spaces and crowded spaces.

“This stroller is great for the value. We have used a Graco stroller but wife wanted a jogger and I didn’t see the value of spending 2 -3 times more than this stroller.”

Very Good – 8/10

It is very easy to use this stroller due to its easy fold and high degree of maneuverability. Everything is easy to access and adjusting different aspects of the stroller, such as the foot rest, is an effortless process. This stroller definitely ranks high among Mountain Buggy’s strollers.

Very Good – 7/10

This stroller is very easy to fold. Pushing two buttons simultaneously, each located on opposite sides of this stroller, and a large button on the handle will cause this stroller to fold down easily. The only downside of folding this stroller is that it does require both hands, so you cannot hold your child and fold the stroller at the same time.

Very Good – 7/10

The Cosmopolitan was rated as a 7 out of 10 in this category. The handlebars on this stroller are very comfortable and sit at a comfortable angle for parents. This allows parents to push the stroller with maximum comfort. A con of these handlebars is that they are not adjustable.

Very Good – 8/10

The combination of the Aerotech tires and the suspension system on this stroller make for a smooth ride and an easy-to-steer stroller. This stroller is ranked highly in this category despite its large size and heavy weight because of how easy it is to push despite all of this!

“Our kids are 11 years apart, and I’m finding I love the stuff we’re getting with this one so much more! This jogger is so simple to put together, it’s ridiculous! It came with most of the parts already put together. I only had to attach the back wheels, and they only click on instead of having to deal with lug nuts and such.”

Very Good – 7/10

The Cosmopolitan fares pretty well on rough terrain. Even though it’s not an all-terrain stroller, parents will not find it difficult to push this stroller along on dirt paths, grassy trails, gravelly walkways, etc. The suspension system on this Mountain Buggy helps make rides significantly smoother and helps to sort out bumps along the way.

Very Good – 7/10

The Cosmopolitan comes equipped with a large basket, a 5-point harness, and a roomy gear tray. This roomy gear tray can hold extra things such as heavy shopping bags due to the large amount of support the stroller provides it with. This stroller does not come with cup holders.

Good – 6/10

This stroller may take a longer time to assemble compared to other strollers due to the greater amount of components involved. However, if instructions are followed closely, this stroller is not too difficult to put together.

Good – 5/10

This is not the easiest stroller to clean because its components are not easily removable. However, the fabric is durable and easy to wash.

“This stroller is as if adding another person! You can see the stand alone car seat, pictured: attached top the base that anchors to the car – except that it also can ride on the stroller, so we load Henry into the car seat and set the car seat on to the stroller until we get to the car…”

Excellent – 9/10

The Cosmopolitan received an almost-perfect score in this category due to its roomy undercarriage basket. It is also easy to store items in other parts of the stroller, such as in a mesh pocket or on the gear tray. This stroller will be able to hold all of your essentials such as toys, diapers, etc.

Very Good – 7/10

The adjustable foot rest and recline features of this stroller make for a very comfortable ride. Your little one will not want to leave the stroller! The suspension also helps to make this ride a lot smoother for your child, helping to even out nasty bumps on the road.

Very Good – 7/10

The sun canopy is large on this and is very generous. It also has a peekaboo window so the user can watch over their baby. On top of this there is a mesh window when the seat is reclined. This allows air to come in and out of the stroller to keep the child cool.

Very Good – 7/10

The stroller is not equipped with any suspension. The wheels are meant to absorb the shock from rough terrain.

“The swivel front wheel of Baby Trend Expedition LX turns nicely at tight corners, and this is a good feature to have in a stroller for everyday use. With the remote locking system, the  front wheel can be quickly locked, converting the stroller to a fixed wheel jogger that performs better off road, or on straight trails. It is a jogging stroller you will find easy to push with the prominently large bicycle wheels, and air filled tires that rolls smoothly over rough or flat surfaces.” – Jogging Stroller Reviews
