The Mamas & Papas Armadillo Stroller is definitely a sturdy lightweight stroller. Despite its small structure, the stroller is capable of accommodating a child from birth and up to 50 pounds.

At only 17 pounds, the stroller is considerably lightweight. It can be carried easily on and off the trunk of a car, and up and down the stairs with no problem. Everyday use of such a lightweight stroller is no hassle at all. 

Brakes

Very Good – 8/10

The brakes on the Mamas & Papas Armadillo Stroller is as good as perfect. The brake mechanism is controlled by a single pedal and a effortless press is all it takes to lock and unlock the rear wheels.

Compact

Excellent  – 9/10

The stroller is has a very compact fold, with dimensions of 21.6″ x 28.3″ x 11.8″. It out-performs its competition (such as the City Mini when folded) by more than an inch in all dimensions.

“The large retractable overhead cover gives good protection against the sun and wind and can accommodate an optional rain cover and even lower reaching sun shield. The netting below the cart is quite large and is a great help for shopping duties.”

Ease of Use

Excellent – 9/10

The Mamas & Papas Armadillo stroller is easy to use. It’s lightweight & small frame allows you to easily maneuver around sharp corners and along narrow walkway. It’s one-hand fold feature also allow you to collapse the stroller with ease. For taller parents, you can have the piece of mind that there isn’t a crossbar behind the storage basket that you may accidentally kick.

Folding

Very Good – 8/10

The stroller can be easily folded with one hand. It is a two-step process but you can easily learn how to handle it with one hand. The stroller has an automatic latch to keep the stroller folded, and it can stand on its own when compacted. The stroller also has a great functionality where the seat is folded inside and is protected from dirt when folded.

Grip

Very Good – 8/10

Like many other strollers Mamas & Papas Armadillo Stroller is padded. This provides a good grip for parents to easily handle the stroller. There is also a grip in the middle that allow for one-hand navigation.

Maneuverability

Very Good – 8/10

Maneuvering this stroller is incredibly easy. Due to its narrower frame than other strollers, it can easily steer along narrow and sharp corners. The front swivel wheels can be locked straight for better maneuverability through bumpy roads.

“Very comfy for my son. Nice deep recline and great padding. Also love the adjustable foot rest which makes a big difference when they are small (under 2). He will literally take 2-3 hr naps in this thing.”

Rough Terrain

Good – 6/10

This stroller is does not do well on rough terrain. Its small wheels made from EVA plastic are designed for flat surfaces.

Accessories

Very Good – 7/10

The Mamas & Papas Armadillo stroller comes with a rain cover. This is extremely great if you are traveling and are caught in some unexpected showers. Infant car seat adaptors are also available but sold separately. However, there are no other accessories that come along with the stroller.

Easy to Assemble

Excellent – 10/10

Assembling the stroller is extremely straightforward and quick. There are only a few parts to piece things up and you’re ready to go. The set up takes less than 5 minutes.

Easy to Clean

Very Good – 8/10

The Mamas & Papas Armadillo Stroller is every easy to clean. The minimalistic design of the frame allows you to easily clean the stroller. The sun canopy can also be removed for cleaning.

“It comes with a raincoat that completely covers the front of the stroller and keeps it dry. It’s compact. It fit my 2 1/2 month old baby. It’s easy to assemble. The canopy is extra large and blocks all of the sun. I love the peep hole in the canopy. I like the size of the net underneath the stroller.”

Storage

Excellent – 9/10

The storage basket in the Mamas & Papas Armadillo Stroller is large. Above that, the basket is accessible from all four sides, enabled by the mesh being stretchable. The basket can be accessed from the front when the foot rest is up, and from the back as the crossbar is located close to the child seat.

Child Comfort

Excellent – 9/10

Your child would definitely love being in the stroller. The large canopy will protect your child from the sun’s rays. The straps on the stroller is also padded for extra comfort. The deep, close-to-flat recline are great for sleeping and adjustable footrest allow smaller babies to comfortably prop their legs up.

Sun Canopy

Excellent – 9/10

The canopy in the Mamas & Papas Armadillo Stroller is absolutely huge. It has a small peep window for easy checking on your child, and its magnetic closure is a smart design that is much quieter than velcro. Furthermore, there is a small toy loop on the inside of the canopy that you can hang small toys for your child. This canopy is absolutely brilliant!

Suspension

Good – 6/10

While the stroller has all-wheels suspension, it does not absorb all the shock from bumpy surfaces. The stroller works best on flat surfaces.
